Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women (CRIAW)
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Date: 2008-03-03
Value: $83,700.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: This project applies work the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women recently completed on a gender based lens, the Intersectional Feminist Framework. The work will be undertaken to increase the quality and inclusiveness of programs and services for women, in partnership with three national organizations, the National Anti Racism of Council of Canada, Social Planning Council of Winnipeg, and Canadian Association for Independent Living Centres. The project will work to incorporate a greater recognition of women’s diverse identities into the organizations’ programs, services and governance. Women impacted by the work of these three organizations will work with the organization’s staff, board members, and community workers to assist in the adaptation of services, policies, programs, and structures to ensure they take account of women’s issues and concerns. The outcome will be increased inclusion of women, and better-designed services, policies, and governance structures of the three organizations.
