Purpose: This project will equip 125 immigrant and refugee women with the knowledge, skills and tools to reduce the instances of abuse in their lives and become leaders in their families and communities. K-W Counselling Services, in consultation with a 30 women advisory committee, will assist five immigrant/refugee women to develop financial literacy workshops. These workshops will be delivered by five peer trainers to 90 local women from diverse backgrounds. 5000 copies of a handbook entitled “Money and Making It on Your Own”, previously developed by the Advisory Committee, will be distributed to at least 20 agencies serving immigrant women.
