Purpose: This project will increase the economic independence and social participation of marginalized immigrant women in the Niagara Region. Participants will gain pre-employment and employment retention skills, and receive life skills coaching from peer mentors. These activities will increase participant's self-esteem, employability, level of community participation and number of resources/supports accessible to them. A pre-employment and life coach curriculum, based on the specific needs of women in the Niagara area, will be developed and modeled as a best practice. This toolkit will be made available to other local agencies.
