Date: 2009-01-13
Value: $24,432.00

Purpose: This project aims to assist over 100 Black Anglophone women in the Greater Montreal Area to improve their financial literacy and leadership skills, and increase their involvement in decision making roles within local community organizations. The organization, along with other community partners, professionals and volunteers will develop resources and provide leadership training for the participants. The project will look to change the attitudes of society to enable all women to have equal access to becoming decision makers in their communities. Women will become leaders and encourage their peers to do so as well. Skills obtained during the workshops will not only affect the individual, but will be felt throughout the entire community. Women will be brought together by a common bond to make improvements to the economic climate of their community.
