Purpose: The purpose of this project is to create better conditions for the civic engagement of immigrant women and teenage girls in the Waterloo region. During this three-year project, the organization will provide intensive leadership training workshops to 130 immigrant women and 50 teen girls. The purpose of the workshops is to enable participants to identify strengths and personal interests as well as build knowledge and skills. The organization will approach some community groups to promote inclusion of immigrant women and teenage girls, and will develop a leadership training manual on civic engagement, which will be used internally and shared with other interest groups.
