Purpose: The goal of this project is to empower elderly women to protect themselves against violence and increase their safety. In the first phase, the organisation’s (Le Cran des femmes) existing self-defence and violence prevention workshops will be adapted to the needs of elderly women aged 60 and over. A focus group of 20 elderly women will be tasked with developing training tools and evaluating their content. In the second phase, these workshops will be offered to elderly women from various regions of Quebec. At the end of the project, some 770 elderly women will have improved their ability to protect themselves against violence and will have increased their safety.
