|Purpose: ||This 36-month project will increase economic security for low-income women as they move towards employment or self-employment. Complementing existing programs at the Saint John Community Loan Fund, the project will provide the participants with tools and support such as individual business advice, learning workshops, and mentor circles. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in annual trade fairs which will help promote and sustain their businesses past the critical two-year start-up period. It will also use an Asset Development and Sustainable Livelihoods Model to assist participants in five key asset areas. Best practices and the model will be shared with various groups nationally.
