Purpose: This 36-month project will focus on increasing employment opportunities in the marine/shipbuilding industry for First Nations women living in the Greater Vancouver area. It will capitalize on work being done under a larger employment and training strategy developed through collaborative partnerships and will ensure efforts are inclusive of First Nations women. Based on a gender-based analysis of industry barriers and opportunities, a sector action plan aimed specifically at increasing the participation and advancement of First Nations women in the marine/shipbuilding sector will be developed.
