Purpose: This 36-month project will work to promote the recruitment and retention of female construction workers in the Outaouais Region. Partnerships will be established with the Outaouais division of the Commission de la Construction du Québec and with CSN-Construction, among others. A needs assessment with a gender lens will be conducted, and groups with expertise in women’s participation in the labour force and in the construction industry will also be consulted to identify issues, needs and solutions in advocating the advancement and well-being of women in the industry. An action plan will then be piloted to support employers implementing rules and measures to integrate and retain women in the sector.
