Purpose: This 36-month project will work with community leaders, sports teams, athletes, and high school youth to prevent violence against women and girls in Manitoba. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will partner with key decision-makers to engage junior athletes and youth in intercity and rural secondary schools across Manitoba. Gender based violence and prevention workshops will be developed and delivered in schools and ambassadors will be recruited as leaders on their respective teams. A toolkit highlighting outcomes and best practices will be shared with sports organizations throughout Manitoba.
