Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Child Care Advocacy Association of Canada
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Date: 2016-10-06
Value: $193,000.00
Type: Contribution
Purpose: This 36-month project will mobilize a broad network inside and outside the child care community across Canada to advocate for structural and policy changes for access to quality and affordable child care. Through the project, decision-makers, leading organizations, and large employers will be engaged to commit to take action to implement systemic solutions within their organization or sector. The creation of a virtual platform will ensure ongoing engagement and dialogue between key stakeholders, as well as bridge the gap between child care users and decision-makers. The project will also provide an opportunity to gather child care leaders to transfer knowledge and strengthen their capacity for civic engagement and to affect systemic changes to address this barrier to women’s full participation in aspects of public life.
Comments: Co-applicants in this project include: Childcare Resource and Research Unit, Canadian Child Care Federation. Multi-year project.
