Purpose: This 36-month project will address systemic barriers to improve women’s access to justice when reporting sexual violence to police in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Key stakeholders will be engaged to identify and implement changes in policies, protocols, and procedures that lead to inconsistent and discriminatory practices within the criminal justice system. A strategy will be developed and implemented to improve women’s access to justice and improve conditions for women reporting sexual assault to criminal justice agencies. The strategy will be shared with decision-makers in order to bring changes to the criminal justice system for sexual assault survivors.
