Purpose: This three year project will facilitate women’s increased knowledge of their own ability to participate in economic decision-making. Women in eight Manitoba communities will participate in a series of educational workshops. The project will also identify women interested in becoming mentors and provide them with mentorship training and other training to increase their knowledge of women’s economic development. They will acquire tangible organisational, public speaking and facilitation skills. The mentees will return to their communities and facilitate a number of educational workshops over the life of the project and assist women in their communities by increasing their knowledge of economic opportunities and decision-making processes.
Comments: Multi-year project of 3 years (2008-2010).
