|Purpose: ||The 24-month project will enhance innovative holistic parent support/education for 144 rural, young at-risk women to develop new knowledge and skills to better manage their resources. Two user-friendly, progressive financial management modules will be developed, used and evaluated based on priority financial issues of young at-risk mothers in rural communities. The aim is to increase their economic opportunities, prosperity, safety and their capacity to nurture their families. Participatory approaches and the adaptation of existing financial management resources will reduce barriers for young at-risk young women to equal economic participation in their communities. The support and education resources and technique will be developed by at-risk mothers, key community partners and multidisciplinary staff with expertise in financial management. The modules, results, lessons learned and best practices will be shared with local, regional, provincial and national networks.
