Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Table de concertation du mouvement des femmes de la Mauricie
Location: Trois-Rivières, Quebec
Date: 2009-01-13
Value: $140,200.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: The project aims to increase women’s representation in positions of authority in the Mauricie region. The organization will work with three different groups: young women, women who have already been elected to a municipal structure, and women with little formal education. In order to continue the work begun in 2005 in local schools, the component intended for young women will promote non-stereotypical socialization for girls and boys, by targeting high school, college and university students. The component for female elected officials will be used to support them during their mandate, and to create conditions that will help strengthen their decision to remain in elected positions. The component for women with less formal education will give them the opportunity to be more active in their community and to develop their leadership skills.
Comments: Multi-year project of 36 months.
